Resource Intensive But Cheap And Excellent Protection, September 19, 2012 This review is from: Internet Security 2013 Value Edition M2 - 3 PCs/1Year (CD-ROM) I've been using Bitdefender 2011 for the past year, switched to 2012 a while ago, then upgraded to 2013. I'm using it nearly exclusively for the antivirus protection so the antispam and other features are generally things I turn off; your mileage may vary as I've seen other reviews saying those can slow down web access. As I use it, I've liked it overall, but the Bitdefender is an extremely resource intensive program. If you're using a computer old enough to be running XP, you probably shouldn't be running it. With the older 2011 version, on my Windows 7 64-bit machine I had very few problems; on my Vista 32-bit machine occasional problems; on my wife's XP laptop the software was essentially unusable. I haven't used this one long enough to comment, though I can update the review later, but past versions have been a bit flaky and required repair installation from time to time.
They've really pared back the installation package options after 2011. There are far fewer clicks... Read more
