Buyer Beware, February 21, 2012 By This review is from: Bitdefender AntiVirus Plus 2012 Standard M1 3U/1 Year (CD-ROM) Rating would be zero stars if possible. Here's why. I installed BitDefender AV 2010 a couple of years ago on a pair of computers owned by a client. There were a few setup and configuration issues resolved in "advanced" mode, but once setup it performed well. My client uses Windows XP Pro. In December with annual renewal at $49.95, I opted to upgrade to the 2012 version. Big mistake. Much less configurable and much more automatic in function, it lacked the "advance" configuration mode of the 2010 version. For the first 25 days or so seemed to work fine. One morning I get a call that the computer would not boot properly. It got as far as loading desktop wallpaper but with no start menu or desktop shortcuts and no access to Task Manager to run anything. I restart forcing safe mode and do a full backup fearing the worst. In safe mode (with networking), Bitdefender indicates it has failed to complete an update and real-time protection is disabled. Clean Your Computer, January 10, 2012 By This review is from: Bitdefender AntiVirus Plus 2012 Standard M1 3U/1 Year (CD-ROM) There is no question that these days it is as much of a must to buy anti-virus software for your computer, just as much as it is to buy the computer. There are so many computer software programs that intend more to slow the speed down by about half of your computer, but some that work just as strong with the computer as you can use it to do your daily lives. BitDefender has always been underrated with making great software that works well with your computer, but they do the job well with their scanning. That has also shown with their 2012 AntiVirus Plus 2012 Standard. This software does the job well at keeping your computer safe from any virus attacks that can harm your computer. Now it helps with good software encryption that will safeguard you from virus hits when you are on social sites like Facebook and Twitter. I would definitely recommend BitDefender as a premium buy for all your computer protection needs.
